Yoshimi Kato is the son of Hiroshi Kato a famous knife maker who made his name at Masakage Knives, a legend in the knife making world. Training under his father Yoshimi Kato has become one of the newest and hottest knife makers on the block. He himself has started to make his own knives at the Takefu Knife village under his own name whilst still doing some work at Masakage Knives. The AS Kurouchi Damascus range has a core of Aogami Super Blue Carbon steel giving it a Rockwell rating of 63/64 HRC. The Aogami Super Blue core is one of the best for edge retention and superior sharpness. Beautifully finished in the Kurouchi style (left to blacken in the forge) giving the super blue steel core added protection due to the reactive nature of the steel. Not only does it protect and ensure that it is easy to care for but adds a distinguished forged finish look adding to the beautiful aesthetic.
